3lite takes the lead in organizing the event!

One of the key conclusions from the CTBUH 2018 Global Annual Conference, was that the organisation must spread its presence into Eastern Europe, South America and Africa. 3lite has taken the lead in supporting the organisation’s growth in Eastern Europe, by running the first such CTBUH event in the organisation’s 50-year history.

This one day event will take place on Wednesday, 19th June 2019 at the Hilton Hotel in Belgrade, Serbia – within the organisational umbrella of the 12th Annual REBEC Conference, one of the largest of its kind in Eastern Europe. This year’s theme at the Organisation’s 50th Anniversary happening, and 10th Global Conference in Chicago will be “50 Forward; 50 Back: The Recent History and Essential Future of Sustainable Cities”, and the event in Belgrade will reflect on this by discussing the perspective of tall buildings for the next 50 years in Eastern Europe.

With the plenary session in Belgrade to be headed by Steve Watts, CTBUH Chairman and Partner at alinea (UK), Paul Simovic, Director of KPF (UK) and Sasha Zeljic, Principal at Gensler (USA), the event envisions 4 diverse panels over a full day event. Notable speakers from Foster + Partners, Atkins, Gulf Related, Azizi Development, China State Construction, Saraiva + Associados, and others have already confirmed their presence as panelists at what is already gearing up to be a very exciting and well-attended event. Topics discussed will include the Eastern European perspective for tall buildings and mega projects, specific technical challenges that await the region with the rise in tall building developments, and the changing demand of tenants in tall buildings and its reflection on the business case for Owners, i.e. the profitability of going tall.

Milan Jankovic, CTBUH representative and director at 3lite will steer the event with the full support of an experienced REBEC organisational structure. We at 3lite are extremely privileged to be in a position to contribute to an organisation such as CTBUH, and call on interested guests to register their attendance, as there are limited spaces available due to high demand.
